Two snakes entwined,

gnashing feeble fangs;

fragile scales opposed,

both harken to reign.

Tangled in feud,

on bellies crawl;

nix liberty, save,

a serpent’s fall.

Thus must one,

the other eat,

that a dragon may rise,

from strife’s red heat.
